"Good morning"!
As we prepared for another day, trees were swaying and leaves falling. Watching the news, we were notified of an upcoming massive earthquake.
My family paid little attention..!
Except my dad.
My dad senses things that are about to happen.
He set his mind on it all day.
He told me stories of past earthquakes and the damage they can cause.
"When you were still in your mothers stomach, the Northridge earthquake happened.. we were very lucky nothing bad happened. I did everything thing I could to keep you and mother safe. That year you were born"!
Being terrified of earthquakes ,I began to wounder " what would I do if this earthquake does happen"?
The day went on. My dad came to pick me up, once again we began to talk about the earthquake.
Outside of our car we could see wind blowing, thrusting things back and forth. I could also see palm trees swaying back and forth, scared they were going to collapse I looked away.
I had heard sayings that when an earthquake is about to occur the climate changes dramatically!

Farwell....

"Lets all enjoy the ride,..... God bless Alaska and God Bless America"(13)!The background of Sarah Palin's speech is that as governor she promised many things and now that she is finished its time to step down and leave. Sarah Palin presented a Farwell Address to her fellow Alaskans arguing that she has done what she came to do. There is no need for her to continue her so now she can leave.

In her Farwell Address Sarah explains, "I promised that we..."(3-6). Sarah promised many things such as funding education, energy solutions, etc. She reiterates the things she promised and emphasizes that she has accomplished it ans she has finished her job. Through out the whole speech Sarah iterates the word, "we". In her speech she uses Plain folks, comparing herself to all ordinary Alaskins.

Sarah Palin's speech expresses the beauty and history of Alaska. It does not specify on the topic the speech was originally for. She tries to change the topic by explaining all the things she promised, how they were accomplished and the history of Alaska. She never really gets to the point and to me that is like if she is not really sure what she is doing or talking about. she might have stated many things she came to accomplish but not much probably changed.
